Naturally, all our legal advice is independent. But the law recognises certain circumstances where one party to an agreement must take “independent legal advice” if the agreement is to be legally binding. Typically, this arises in the field of property transactions and the settlement of employment disputes. The firm operates a fixed-price scheme for the provision of independent legal advice by a solicitor in these circumstances. Fixed priceSimple property transactions (personal guarantees and indemnities, waivers of rights etc): £350+VAT Complex property transactions: by agreementEmployment settlement agreements: £500+VAT (typically reimbursed by the employer) The prices includes all preparation, a video conference with the solicitor, which is recorded, and a short written note of the advice.
