Mediation

Mediation is a process by which parties to disputes can attempt to settle, either before or during a court or arbitration process. The process is “chaired” and the parties are assisted by a mediator, who is a totally neutral and independent person. The process is completely confidential, enabling the parties to discuss the subject matter and potential settlements freely. It is possible for the parties to reach settlements by mediation which would not be available in court or in an arbitration, where the tribunal is limited to recognising and enforcing existing legal rights.

 

Richard Slade brings over 30 years of experience in dealing with disputes and now offers his services as a CEDR-accredited mediator.

 

The firm offers a fixed-price service at £7,500+VAT for a half-day mediation and £10,000+VAT for a one-day mediation. Bespoke terms are available for longer mediations. The price includes all preparation and the services of an assistant during the mediation. Travelling costs are charged in addition. The price does not include venue hire or refreshments. Both are available in Gray’s Inn by separate agreement.
